Warning labels sold with the entertainment stands indicate incorrect size and weight limits for televisions used with the stands. A television that is too heavy or wide for the entertainment stand can make the unit unstable, posing a tip-over hazard.

Pella Corp., of Pella, IA, is recalling about 6,500 Architect Series and 850 Series Casement Windows. The hinge can break, causing the window sash to fall out, posing a risk of injury to persons beneath the window.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling 5.5 million window blinds and shades. The cords pose a strangulation hazard.

Lone Star Brisket Co. of Thorndale, TX, is recalling approximately 207 pounds of smoked beef products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes

Goodman Manufacturing Company, of Houston, TX, is urging consumers who haven’t yet responded to a 1998 recall to do so immediately. Changes are being made to the original recall. An issue with HTPV pipes on some Goodman furnaces could cause them to crack or separate at the joints and leak carbon monoxide (CO), presenting a deadly threat to consumers. more….

Due to a serious fire hazard, Maytag has expanded the recall of Maytag, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag and Crosley brand refrigerators. About 46,000 units are now added to the 1.6 million units previously recalled March 2009.

Qualitest Pharmaceuticals, Inc., is voluntarily recalling Accusure Insulin Syringes (1/2 cc – 31 G – Short Needle) with lot number 6JCB1. The needles can detach from the syringe.

**ALLERGY ALERT**Cleopatra Candy Inc., of Brooklyn, NY, is recalling “Cleopatra Candy” Mixed Nuts due to the presence of undeclared sulfites.

AFX is recalling certain model FX-28 motorcycle helmets, sizes XS, SM, and MD. In the event of a crash, the wearer of the helmet may not be adequately protected, possibly resulting in personal injury.

**ALLERGY ALERT**Van’s International Foods has issued an allergy alert and is voluntarily recalling their 12.4 ounce package of frozen Van’s Wheat Free Homestyle Pancakes. They contain undeclared wheat, gluten, milk and egg.

Nirve Sports Ltd., of Huntington Beach, CA, is recalling about 120 Cannibal Bicycles. The bicycle stem can crack and cause the rider to lose control, posing a risk of serious injury if the rider falls.

Felt Bicycles, of Irving, CA, is recalling about 1,500 2007/2008 Felt F1X Cyclocross Bicycles. The bicycle’s fork steerer tube can break, causing the rider to lose control and fall, posing a risk of injury.

Krell Industries LLC, of Orange, CT, is recalling about 2,300 Amplifiers. The amplifiers were designed to operate at a temperature warm to the touch. However, a component input device can fail and cause the amplifiers to overheat, posing burn and fire hazards.

One World Technologies Inc., of Anderson, SC, is recalling
about 3,000 Ridgid 10-inch Table Saws sold exclusively at Home Depot. The table saw’s arbor shaft can fail when used with a stacked blade set (commonly known as a “stacked dado set”), which is used to cut grooves. The stacked blade set can be ejected from the saw, posing a potential laceration hazard.

Burley Design LLC, of Eugene, OR, is recalling 2009 d’lite ST and Solo ST Child Trailers. The axle assembly’s internal sleeve can loosen, causing one wheel to separate from the trailer, posing a risk of injury to the child occupant or bike rider.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is once again urging all parents and caregivers to immediately stop using convertible “close-sleeper/bedside sleeper” bassinets manufactured by Simplicity Inc., of Reading, Pa. Sterling Publishing Co. Inc, of New York, NY, is recalling about 15,000 eebee’s “Have a Ball” Adventures Cloth Books. A string attaching a ball to the book can become entangled in the basketball hoop element, posing a strangulation hazard to young children.

Weight Watchers Intl., of New York, NY, is recalling Hungry Figures and Hungry Magnets; about 420,000 units in the United States, and 25,000 in Canada. Sewing needles have been found in the stuffing of the Hungry Figures, posing a puncture hazard.

The Modern Fan Co. Inc., of Ashland, OR, is recalling about 1,300 Pensi Fans. The internal coupler that connects the down rod assembly to the motor can break and cause the fan to fall from the ceiling, posing an injury hazard.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc., of Bentonville, AR, is recalling about 1.5 Million Durabrand DVD Players. The DVD players can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard.

Remote Switches Recalled by Woodstock International: An incorrectly sized wire inside the remote switch can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Black & Decker Coffeemakers Recalled By Applica Consumer Products: The coffeemakers can overheat and melt, posing a burn hazard.

CPSIA raises civil penalties, lowers acceptable lead levels: This Friday three important provisions of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act take effect that lower acceptable lead levels, raise the amount of civil penalties and require tracking of children’s products.

**ALLERGY ALERT**Undeclared Sulphites in HUIPU Brand Dried Pachyrhizus (Sweet Potato) From China Canadian Food Inspection Agency: The CFIA and Uncle T Foods Ltd. are warning people with sensitivity to sulphites not to consume Huipu brand Dried Pachyrhizus (Sweet Potato).

**ALLERGY ALERT**Shun Fung International Trading Inc. dba Yummy Foods Co: Yummy Foods Company of San Francisco, California, is recalling its 17 oz./480g Wife Cake. The product contains undeclared egg and wheat, posing an allergy risk.

**ALLERGY ALERT**Kraft recalls 8000 pounds of frozen pizza: The company announced the recall of 17.2-ounce packages of pizza bearing the Jack's Original sausage and pepperoni and Tombstone Original 12 Pepperoni pizza due to undeclared soy.

Curry & Echols, Inc. of McDonough, Georgia, is recalling some Curry & Echols “Sweeties” Bread and Butter Pickles due to jars not sealing properly.

Canada**A recall has been issued for Viking Side by Side refrigerators. There have been 57 incidents where one of the doors fell off and caused minor injuries, including bruises and broken toes.

FDA Announces Recall of ADHD Drug: A voluntary recall has been issued by generic drug maker Barr Laboratories for medications which are typically used to treat symptoms of attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

New Jersey Firm Recalls Ground Beef Products: Pasha Halal Poultry, doing business as Marcacci Meats, a Vineland, NJ, establishment, is recalling approximately 128 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E coli.

Canada**The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume Pidy brand Pur Mamba (peanut butter-piment). The product may be contaminated with aflatoxin.

Mares has recalled the Nemo Air Quick Connector. An issue with the O-ring could cause a leak through the Quick Connector resulting in a loss of breathing gas. This could potentially lead to an accident.

Newmar is recalling certain MY 2003 and 2004 motor homes and recreational vehicle trailers equipped with certain Norcold refrigerators. The coolant solution in these cooling units can escape. If a leak occurs and the unit continues to operate, hydrogen gas may be expelled, possibly ignited, and result in a fire. This is a serious personal safety risk.

BMW is recalling certain MY 2009 Z4 30I and 35I vehicles. A defective crimp connector in a belt tensioner wiring plug may lead to increased electrical resistance of that connection, posing a risk of the safety belt tensioner failing to deploy in a crash. This could possibly result in increased injury to the seat occupant.

Hospira, Inc., is initiating a nationwide recall of certain Hospira devices that have defective AC power cords manufactured by Electri-Cord Manufacturing Corporation. This recall is being issued in response to customer reports of sparking, charring and fires on the plug of the power cord. more…

Sterling Pacific Meat Co., has recalled more than 3,500 pounds of ground beef products that might be contaminated with E. coli.

Barr Laboratories Inc. is recalling 100-count bottles of 20-milligram tablets of dextroamphetamine saccharate, amphetamine aspartate, dextroamphetamine sulfate and amphetamine sulfate with lot number 311756. The tablets could be larger than indicated, leading to super-potent doses.

Peregrina Cheese Corp. of Brooklyn, NY, is recalling all products manufactured in its Brooklyn, NY plant since March 17, 2009, due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

Nautilus Inc., of Vancouver, WA, has recalled about 400 Nautilus F3 Chin Dip Stationary Exercise Units. The footpads can break, posing a fall hazard.

Little Tikes, of Hudson, OH, is recalling about 1.6 Million Little Tikes Workshops Sets and Trucks. The workshop sets and trucks have oversized, plastic toy nails that can pose a choking hazard to young children.

Homelite Consumer Products Inc., of Anderson, SC, is recalling about 51,750 Homelite, Husky and Black Max Brand Generators. The fuel gauge can leak excessive amounts of gasoline, posing a fire hazard.

NewStar Fresh Foods has issued a precautionary voluntary recall of 772 cartons of iced jumbo green onions. The brand names involved are Omo and Fu Choy. They are possibly contaminated with Salmonella.

Liberte Brand Products is recalling 6-ounce Liberte Mediterranee Wild Blackberry Yogourt products. They may contain walnuts and plums not declared on its packaging, posing an allergy risk.

Griffin International Cos., Inc., of Minneapolis, MN, has recalled about 220,000 Psyclone Essentials and React Wii 4-Dock Battery Recharge Stations. The battery pack can overheat, posing a burn or fire hazard. Injuries have been reported.

Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. is recalling one production lot of its painkilling Fentanyl patch because some of the patches have leaks. This poses a risk of direct exposure to the drug.

Australia**Fonterra is voluntarily recalling Norco 2 litres Vanilla Custard and Hastings Valley Dairy 2kg (2 litres) Vanilla Custard from New South Wales, and Norco 2 litres Lite Reduced Fat Custard from New South Wales and Queensland. The affected custard may contain Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.

At the request of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Marshals seized tuna salad sandwiches and other food products from Bearden Sandwich Company Inc., dba Southern Belle Sandwich Company, in Baton Rouge, LA. FDA inspections found evidence of widespread and active rodent and insect infestation, filthy conditions, and poor employee practices, such as allowing food-processing utensils to lie on the floor near live insects. The company distributes products to convenience and retail stores in southern Louisiana; Mobile, Ala.; Montgomery, Ala.; and Crestview, Fla. more….

Target, of Minneapolis, MN, is recalling about 43,000 Circo Booster Seats. The booster seat restraint buckle can open unexpectedly, allowing a child to fall from the chair and be injured.

Graco Children’s Products Inc., of Atlanta, Ga. is recalling about 2,400 Jump ‘n Jive Doorway Jumpers. Strips of hook and loop fabric attached to the jumper straps can detach during use, posing a choking hazard.

In February 2009, Dorel Juvenile Group USA, of Columbus, IN, recalled 100,000 Safety 1st SmartLight Stair Gates. They have expanded the recall to include about 31,500 more units. The hinges that hold the stair gate in place can break, posing a fall hazard to children if the gate is placed at the top of the stairs.

Beef Packers, Inc., of Fresno, CA. is recalling approximately 825,769 pounds of ground beef products that may be linked to an outbreak of salmonellosis.

To help reduce the chance of rollover and improve vehicle handling, Yamaha is offering a free repair campaign to owners of Yamaha Rhino 660, 450, and 700 model Side x Side (SxS) vehicles, in cooperation with the CPSC. Rollovers while traveling at low speeds on level terrain have led to serious injuries and even death.

When a manufacturer, distributor or retailer discovers a serious product defect, or finds a product doesn’t comply with consumer safety rules, regulations or standards, they have 24 hours to inform the CPSC. Wagner Spray Tech Corp., of Plymouth, MN, and Techtronic Industries Co. LTD, of Hong Kong, have agreed to pay a civil penalty of $800,000 to settle a federal lawsuit for failing to comply with this rule. more…..

Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, MN, has recalled about 3,800 MY 2009 Polaris Ranger “Crew” and “6×6” Side-by-Side Recreational Vehicles. An electrical short can lead to overheating in the rear tail light wiring harnesses, posing a fire hazard.

Canada**Maple Leaf Foods Inc., is conducting a precautionary recall of nine wiener products, marketed under the brand names Hygrade, Shopsy’s and Maple Leaf. because they may contain traces of the Listeria bacteria.

Russell Brands LLC, of Alexander City, AL, has recalled about 1,700 Spalding In-Ground Basketball Hoops. The bolts at the base can fail, causing the unit to fall. This poses a risk of serious injury.

Black & Decker Inc., of Towson, MD, has recalled about 200,000 GH1000 Grasshog XP String Trimmer/Edgers. Issues with the trimmer pose a serious laceration hazard to the user, as well as bystanders, and it can also overheat, posing a burn hazard.

Ross Stores Inc., of Pleasanton, CA, has recalled about 1,800 Marble Top Plant Stands. The top of the stand can detach from the base and fall, posing a risk of personal injury.

FDA warns consumers not to use any Clarcon products. In June 2009, Clarcon voluntarily recalled all of their skin sanitizers and skin protectants due to contamination with high levels of potentially disease-causing bacteria. Some of these bacteria can cause opportunistic infections of the skin and underlying tissues, may require medical or surgical attention, and could result in permanent damage. U.S. Marshals, at the request of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, have now seized all product, including ingredients and components, at Clarcon Biological Chemistry Laboratory’s Roy, Utah facility.

Camacho’s Food Processing, in Salinas, CA, is recalling 10-pound, plastic-lined bags of “Camacho’s Foods PS., URUAPAN, CHICHARRONES, (FRYED PORK SKIN).” bearing the establishment number “EST. 34241″. The items were prepared without federal inspection.

Harvest Market in Bedford, MA, has recalled egg salad sold in the deli at between July 18th and 24th. The product is contaminated with Listeria bacteria.
